When it comes to decking, it is very important how you feel when you walk barefoot. The key factors for this are heat generation and a pleasant surface.
Stay cool in the sun
Heat build-up can be a significant problem on patios and decks. In summer, decking boards warm up in the sun. Some materials heat up so much that they become too hot to walk on barefoot. Not Accoya. Tests with thermogram images showed that Accoya wooden decks stay pleasantly cool, even on the hottest days. Accoya performed significantly better than comparable decking materials.

Long Durability

All Accoya wood was coated using a bespoke stain to give the appearance of weathered Accoya. Overtime, Accoya naturally weathers to this silver grey patina but using Quantec by Quantum Timber Finishes the bespoke stain gave the weathered appearance from the outset.
Inspired by Cradle-to-Cradle Principles
The new city hall in Venlo the Netherlands is a paramount example of applying the Cradle to Cradle design principles on a building scale. This project also boasts the highest possible application level of Cradle to Cradle within the fixed budget.
The most important element the design team had to consider was the use of appropriate materials which have green credentials and can be recycled. This is why Accoya was selected as the ideal timber for decking, windows and exterior facade as well as the doors and ceilings.
