Accoya was chosen for the decking, garage door and front door of a Private Residence in Cottesloe, a western suburb of Perth, WA, Australia.
Accoya wood was chosen for both the front door and garage door because it offers a consistent high quality. Accoya is exceptionally stable and despite the heat in WA, the wood has minimal movement, shrink and swell. This is vital for doors to allow them to open and close effortlessly all year round.

Accoya replaces Iroko
Accoya was chosen to replace an existing Iroka door. The owner was tired of the door cracking and having to repaint it yearly which required a lot of maintenance and locking issues.
The Period Door Company suggested Accoya as the best solution and a great investment due to its 50 year guarantee, dimensional stability and its ability not to shrink or swell. A new design unit was built to replicate the old one but Accoya allowed for modern standard being met; this meant that Heritage multipoint locks and Slimlite crown double glazing (built from solid Accoya) could be used.
